    May 1st is also known as Beltaine for the Pagans like me, and seems to be where Vappu originated from. It's very similar in celebration to Vappu though I usually just string some flowers together and say the simple blessing.

    Here 1 May is national holiday too. It's "Labor Day".

    But May Day sounds better ok
